The Rolex Sea-Dweller was launched in 1988 to substitute the previous “Triple Six” Sea-Dweller. While both two watches were very similar in artistic, there are a few delicate differences.
The Replica Rolex model keeps a great balance between having modern Rolex enhancements, though still sporting a little bit of vintage appeal. For example, the Sea-Dweller sports an Oyster bracelet with solid end links. Obviously, when Rolex used Super Lumi Nova as a substitute, the tag changed to just say “SWISS” and then after a while “SWISS MADE.” 
In view of the fact that the design differences from its ancestor were so negligible, it can be implicit that the major motive of changing the reference number was because of its new caliber.
The model, which has 31 jewels, a frequency of 28,000 beats per hour, and a power reserve of 48 hours is the Rolex Caliber automatic mechanical chronometer movement. The final Rolex workhorse, the Caliber 3135 is still used in today’s Rolex’s replica watches – almost 30 years after its 1988 debut.
To the sadness of many, as is well-known, Replica Rolex discarded the Sea-Dweller and replaced it with a very different diving watch model, larger and more water-resistant Deepsea Sea-Dweller (DSSD) in 2008. Nevertheless, it turned out to be only a six-year break, since Rolex astonished everyone with the Sea-Dweller watch in 2014.
